Our July 4th Celebration

I am slowly updating what we have been up to the past few weeks. We had a wonderful July 4th weekend. On July 3rd Romney Stadium here at the University had a huge firework show. It is our tradition to have a huge cookout and invite family and friends over for dinner and then to watch the firework display from our back yard. But since we were exhausted from our huge family shin-dig on July 1, we ended up playing it very low key with just ice cream for everyone we invited. Liam had so much fun and shouted out the colors as the fireworks exploded. He told me that, "His most favorite ones were the green fireworks." Not bad huh! He had a great time and the next morning we slept in, had a yummy waffle breakfast thanks to Bill, and we packed up our water gear, a Canoe that we rented from the ORC here on campus and headed for Bear Lake to meet my family. We had so much fun! My grandma was there, as well as my brothers Matiu and Clint's families. My sister Laura and her family. My parents were there and my younger siblings Tawai and Tawhe were there as well. It was a restful day spent eating watermelon, grapes, and cantaloupe. I had so much fun! Liam cried when it was time to leave and go home he was having tons of fun with all his cousins. We got home in time to park up on the canyon bench and watch fireworks exploding all over the valley. It was a wonderful day! I am so thankful to live in this wonderful country and to enjoy the freedoms and rights that are mine which were paid for by those who have given their lives so that we may enjoy the liberties that being an American affords us. I love being an American and I am truly thankful! Hope you all had a great day as well!

Breaking Dawn is August 2nd... Looks like your forth was fun! We miss going to Bear Lake (but it's such a long drive from here!) We went to Lagoon this year, which was fun, but the kids missed the normal 4th stuff that we do.... so we'll see for next year. Are you going to Kawiti's baby blessing this Saturday? Hope we see you there!
