A Moment To Toot My Own Horn!

OK so this lady is me in my dreams but I am really proud of myself right now and I just wanted to toot my own horn. I have worked out every single day in January save sundays and so I am giving myself a huge shout out since it was really hard and I went kicking and screaming to the Field House to work out almost every single time but I did it!! I don't normally share with others my health goals since its really embarrasing when they look at you and ask you when your due (yip that has happened and nope there is no baby on the way) or when they watch you stuffing your face with doughnuts. But hooray for me, I did it! I have lost inches and a few pounds and I am trying to tell myself that I am converting fat to muscle and that its more important to lose inches but I am getting discouraged and yet I am pushing onward down this path! Now lets see how February bodes for me! So far so good since I am seating here in my sweaty and smelly clothes. Its off to the shower I go!

Oh yes, before I part, how are you all doing with your New Years Resolutions? Have you achieved something this past month for which you are proud of? Tell me all about, I would love to hear you tooting your horns as well!

Well Done Moana!!!! As Luigi in the movie Cars would say "I want to scream my excitement to the world, from the top of someplace very high!" Keep going. Think of how much healthier your heart is and how well balances your hormones are and all the internal benifits of excercise. Don't worry about the outer benifits, they will come in time. Great job!

Hooray! I have also made goals for exercising and eating right. I haven't done so well in the exercise area. But I can toot my horn about the eating right! I have been counting my calories and have stayed between 1400 and 1600 every day for two whole weeks (this is actually quite amazing for me).

You can feel better about exercising every day in February because there are only 29 days instead of 31!

Yea!!! I really do love reading other's exercise/fitness goals so I'm glad you got over the embarrassment (don't see what's to be embarrassed about though, you ROCK!) and posted it. It's totally motivating to me to see how good others are doing and be able to tell myself, yes, I can do it too. Keep going!!!

I haven't been on a specific program or read any books. All I do is use this website: http://caloriecount.about.com

It's awesome because you just enter what you eat and it shows you all the nutrition info. It works for me because (1)our computer is in our living room so I keep the website up all day and can easily enter food a few times a day (2)it teaches you which foods are good and gives you healthier alternatives to what you have been eating. (3)It has made me become more mindful of what I put in my mouth and of how often I eat just because I'm bored.

I eat 6 times a day so I never get hungry. I just try to make healthier choices about what I snack on. Check out the website. It works for me maybe it can help you too. My mother-in-law uses this website too and she has lost 55 pounds in the past 6 months.

I am so proud of you! It is very hard and it is easy to get discuraged especially when you hit a plateau but don't give up just focus on the health aspects of your hard work and its benefits. The results will amaze you.
I am also trying to excersize more, dancing doesn't seem to be enough any more (the thrills of getting older) My biggest goal for this year is to stay healthy and to eat right. I will be cheering you on from here and knowing that you are working on it motivates me.
Love you.

Great job!! It is so important to exercise (thus I fail meserably at) but have been eating better. Samantha and I are trying also to get in better shape, we are reading a book called "The Sugar Solution". I love it. It has opened my eyes to a lot. You might try it. It's motivating and inspiring. Good luck! We all need to get in better shape and eat healthy so we can be around for a long time:) love your auntie loralyn

Yeah, I'm so glad you showed up on our blog! Your success is wonderful, good job. It only takes 21 days to make a habit so you should be good to go for February. I"m sure you'll be there every day. Great to hear from you. Oh, I have used the websites you posted on your blog for wholesome infant and toddler food and they were really helpful, thanks for sharing.

Oh that is great, can't wait to see the pics of you as you get healthier every day. Thanks for the motivation.

I am eating healthier and knocking out sugar. I am doing alright on my goals, but thanks for the reminder to keep working at them. It is a never ending battle.

Moana, I saw you and your family outside of the church today, and I though, "Moana looks so skinny!!" Well done, I need to follow your example! (By the way, I found your blog... I hope you don't mind!)
